What is Salicylic Acid? It's a great anti-aging serum and helps your skin look fresher and smoother....Usually, after just one use!

This is one of my favorite anti-aging products!

It's also great  acne skin because it's anti-microbial, which helps to keep bacteria and other impurities out and off of your skin – especially blackheads and whiteheads.

It may also help to thicken your skin, and aid in collagen production among other benefits. 

How to Get the Best Results

While salicylic acid  can  found in many over-the-counter products anti-aging creams and serums - the  strength (percentage) is usually not enough to make a significant difference in your complexion.

For mature complexions (and for better results) you want a  salicylic acid cream (or serum) that's is strong enough to penetrate deep into the pores.

This is especially true if you have an oily complexion.

What Is Salicylic Acid - How it works

Salicylic acid works by helping the skin shed all the dead cells in the right way, so that the skin underneath can grow and flourish without all the dead stuff clogging up the works.

By exfoliating like this, you can cut down on the number of breakouts you get, and that is always a good thing.

Using Salicylic acid at home, is affordable and can be easily worked into you routine.

Salicylic acid preparations are available as face cleansers, and toners. Some of the best on the market can be found in a serum/toner or as part of skin resurfacing kit.

There are other ways to work salicylic acid into your beauty regimen, however. You can try dissolving a plain aspirin in water, and using cotton balls to pat it onto your face as a toner, after you wash your face.

Or try making a mask, using aspirin (salicylic acid) and kaolin clay. Use aloe Vera to help soothe the skin in the mix and wash your face well, afterward.

What Is Salicylic Acid - Why It Works

Salicylic acid, a form of beta hydroxyl acid and was first documented by Hippocrates for its fever reducing and pain relieving properties.

Aspirin some from this amazing acid, by adding a few more ingredients to make it a bit more palatable, and easier to swallow, since it’s bitter taste is highly unappetizing.

Salicylic acid, like aspirin, has mild anti-inflammatory properties, which works topically, or on the skin, which is why it helps to reduce the acne bumps and blemishes.

What is salicylic acid? It is one of the most beneficial little parts of the willow plant! Like its counterpart, aspirin, it eases the aches and pains of the heartache of acne.
