Hi Linda,
I've read where Copper Peptides and Retinol make a powerful combination. I just purchased Skin Biology's CP Skin Signal Solutions. Can I use CP and Retinol at the same time, applying
CP first, then Retinol? If not, how should I use these products
to get the maximum benefits?
Thank you.
Thanks for your email regarding copper peptide cream and Retinols.
Ahh, my two favorites -- copper peptide and retinol. First, I would follow the directions as listed on the bottle.
I believe it says you should follow up with a light amount of Emu Oil after each application and if you also use a strong acid like hydroxy acid -- to use it at the opposite end of the day.
So, I would do the same with the retinols too. For example, you could use the copper peptide in the morning and retinols at night before bedtime.
However, since there is no way for anyone to know for sure how each individual person's skin will react, I would first use just one product for a week or even two to see how your skin reacts.
Then after a week or two, if all is well...slowly introduce the other product and make sure you apply it at least 8-12 hours after the first one..... (hence when they say at the opposite end of the day) :-)
Good luck and let me know how it goes.....

Hi,
I'm interested in buying a skin care product called copper peptide cream. You mention it on your site, but don't say where I can buy it.
You can order the copper peptide right from this link below.
Neova Skin Care For Wrinkles
Now, if you have very deep wrinkles and want a more intense treatment, I would suggest the Dual Action copper peptides.
This is a more intense treatment so if your skin is very sensitive, I would use the first one listed above.

i have read your website.but i m little bit confused..i am 33 years old with oily skin.i want to use neova night therapy at night.
Do I need any antioxidant and eye cream? Which do you recommended? After using serum do i have to use moisturizing cream again? plz help.
-----------------------
Hi Lajj,
If your skin is very oily the Neova Night Therapy might too much. It's very thick and creamy.
You are better off with the copper peptide/retinol combination product by Nevoa called Dual Action Lotion.(click on this link and scroll down to the middle bottom of the screen to read about the Dual Action Lotion).
This one gives you the antioxidant, skin rejuvenating benefits of copper peptides along with retinols which help peel away dead skin...helping to unclog pores and even reduce large pores - which is a common problem for people with oily skin.
As far as whether you need a moisturizer after using a serum...you'll be the best judge of that. It's hard for me to tell you how each individual's skin will react. If your face feels tight after using the serum then apply a small amount of moisturizer afterwards.
Hope this helps....

Hello, are there any over the counter products that contain copper peptides or do you have to have a prescription? Thanks!
Hello,
Thanks for your question. Now you can purchase copper peptide creams that contain the specific healing complex called GHK-Cu. This stands for glycyl-l-histidyl-l-lysine:copper (II).
All the research on the benefits of copper peptides for reversing skin aging, inflammation, wound healing, and to enhance tissue health and help stimulate collagen was done on this type of copper peptide.

They make a new peptide formula that penetrates better. It supposed to be even more helpful for reducing wrinkles and large pores.
And also one specifically for the eyes too. You can read more about copper peptides GHK-Cu here at this page best eye wrinkle cream.
I hoped this information helped.

Hi Linda,
I'm trying to conserve money (aren't we all) by not buying products that essentially do the same thing. Coppper-Peptides and Matrixyl 3000 both restore collagen loss, reduce fine lines, and tighten/firm skin. Now, do they essentially perform the same tasks or is there a difference? Thanks,
CR
Hello CR,
Yes, essentially, both copper peptide and Matrixyl 3000 are very similar. Both Matrixyl 3000 - which is a palmitoyl pentapeptide - and copper peptides help stimulate collagen production.
However, Matrixyl 3000 also helps increase hyaluronic acid – which helps keep skin hydrated and looking smooth. Some people with dry skin cannot tolerate copper peptides. It can cause flaking and dryness until the skin adjusts.
So, my suggestion would be to try the the copper peptide if your skin is on the oily side and Matrixyl 3000 if you skin is dry.
There are studies that found that Matrixyl 3000 increases skin hydration by up to 26%. Click on the link to read the studies and learn more.
I hope this helped.

Hi Linda,
Is it ok to combine Copper Peptides and Matrixyl 3000?
Thanks,
Conrad
Hi Conrad,
According to research information on Copper peptides and Matrixyl 3000 - they seem to have similar actions on the skin...healing and rejuvenation.
Personally, I would try one first and then the other - to see which one works best.
Using the two together might irritate your skin - but since everyone is different there is no way for me to know exactly how your skin will react.
If you do decide to use the two together, apply it in small area first to test it out for a few days.
Hope this helps

I've been reading about something called copper peptides. It's a cream I think for wrinkles. Do you know anything about it? Is it expensive and can I use for crows feet?
Thanks,

Yes, copper peptides are excellent for crows feet or any under eye wrinkles. It's also good for the whole face because it helps strengthen your skin and make it thicker.

Studies prove that copper peptides offer a natural alternative to cosmetic surgery.
Over 50 laboratories found that a certain type of copper peptide is the most successful in treating wrinkled skin and rejuvenating and tightening the skin.
Some researchers are even speculating that daily use of copper peptides could replace the need for fat/collagen injections.
Copper peptides encourage our skin’s natural repair mode to help build younger skin cells and to remove old, harden brittle cells.
Copper peptides are a must for mature skin and take only about 1-3 months before you see results.

Hi Linda,
I understand that Copper Peptides and Matrixyl 3000 both reduce wrinkles by producing collagen, but I was just told CP works better because Matrixyl 3000 can use skin hardening. What's your opinion?
Thanks,
CR
Hi Cr,
I've never heard/read that Matrixyl 3000 can cause skin hardening. Most people seem to have pretty good results and the studies look promising too.
However, I know that some copper peptides and Matrixyl 3000 products can cause a little skin irritation. So it is recommend that if you have sensitive skin - use a small amount until you build a tolerance to it.
I have used both products and when I first started I experienced some redness and flaking especially around the eye area (crow's feet).
But, now neither of these products bother my skin.

Hi,
I've been reading a lot of conflicting reports regarding copper peptides. Some people rave about it, others say it has caused them almost irreparable skin damage (increased wrinkles, noticeably sagging skin). I could really use your expert opinion on this matter.
Thanks a lot.
Hello,
Thanks for your question regarding copper peptide creams.
While there are several types of copper peptide creams on the market -- the type that I use and refer to on my site is a special peptide complex called called GHK-Cu. This stands for glycyl-l-histidyl-l-lysine:copper (II).
This type of copper peptide is more stable, and - has been proven in studies - to target skin regeneration and maximize skin renewal.
If your skin is super sensitive, I would start off with the most creamiest, richest copper peptide cream called Neova Night Therapy. This one is perfect to use especially during the cold, dry winter months.
It can also be used during the day too.
You can read more about this type of copper peptide and how they can help heal the skin.....copper peptide studies.
Can you tell me anything about Neova Night Therapy? Is it good for dry skin?
Hello,
Thanks for your email. Neova Night Therapy is one of the very few copper peptides (GHK-Cu) the market today.
These type of copper peptides were once only available through dermatologists and plastic surgeons. They were usually given to people after some cosmetic procedure (like chemical or laser peels) to help speed healing and encourage collagen production.
There are hundreds of studies showing the benefits of copper peptide for younger, stronger, healthier skin. The Neova Night Therapy is one of my favorite night creams and is great for dry wrinkled skin. I also use it during the daytime in the dry, cold, winter months.

I read about palmitoyl pentapeptide 3 (matrixyl) but cannot find a retail source in South Africa or more specifically Cape Town.
Can you advise a rejuvenating/regenerating/firming product that contains it and where it is available? I have deep frown lines.
Anita
Hi Anita,
Thanks for your email regarding Matrixyl.
The only company I know that sells a wrinkle cream with these proven ingredients (and did the clinical studies on them) is Dermagist. Here is their site:
